Critical illness lump sum
Up to RM30,000
On diagnosis of any of 45 critical illnesses. Paid in cash, on top of your medical card.
Main Benefits & Coverage
The Protection Your Medical Card Doesn't Give
Medical cards cover hospital bills. GMBIS pays cash directly to your staff and their families when they need it most, and it doesn’t touch the coverage you already have.
No Medical Check-Up to Join
Under the Simplified Issuance Offer, eligible members can join without medical exams or lengthy health questionnaires. That makes protection easy for everyone, including staff who have been turned down elsewhere.
Pre-existing conditions are not covered. If a non-accidental CI/TPD claim arises within the first 6 months, 50% of the benefit is payable. A death claim due to a pre-existing condition within the first 2 years pays 50%. Terms apply.
45 Critical Illnesses Covered
Get a lump-sum payout of up to RM30,000 on diagnosis of any of 45 critical illnesses, including cancer, heart attack, stroke and kidney failure. The money is yours to use for treatment, income replacement or family needs.
Life & Disability Protection
Your staff’s families receive a full payout on death or Total & Permanent Disability due to any cause.
Double Payout for Accidents
If death or permanent disability is caused by an accident, the payout doubles, up to RM60,000.
Daily Hospital Income
Receive RM20–RM30 cash for every day in hospital (up to 500 days) at any registered hospital in Malaysia, Singapore or Brunei.
Funeral Expenses
A lump sum of RM5,000 helps with funeral costs. It is paid in addition to the death benefit.
Built-In Savings for Retirement
Part of each premium is invested in Great Eastern’s Dana Gemilang fund. At age 65 with no claim made, the member receives the Total Investment Value. It works as an extra retirement fund on top of EPF.
Not sure which benefits fit your team?
WHY Team will map GMBIS against your current medical card and show you the gaps.
Have 100+ staff or special requirements? We’ll work with Great Eastern to tailor a scheme, including a tax-approved retirement gratuity plan, for your company.
Figures are for illustration based on a sample scheme. Actual benefits and premiums depend on your company’s scheme. Terms and conditions apply.
Your Budget, Your Choice
Company-Paid: A Benefit That Retains Talent
The company pays the premium as part of its staff benefits package. From about RM1 per employee per day, it’s one of the most affordable ways to strengthen your benefits and show staff you care.
Employee-Paid: Zero Cost to the Company
The company simply opens access to the scheme. Staff who want to join sign up voluntarily and pay through salary deduction. They get group rates and no medical check-up, and the company adds a valuable benefit without adding to its budget.
A medical card pays the hospital. GMBIS pays you. Together, they close the gaps a medical card leaves open.
